Pre TT Classic Races – Rising Stars/Billown Specialists Conquer

Despite treacherous wet conditions, top quality action a plenty was witnessed today, on the final day of the 2017 Blackford Financial Services-Pre TT Classic Races.

Mike Hose took his total of Pre TT Classic victories to 16, equalling 850 race winner Bill Swallow’s tally of wins, via success within the Lightweight 250 and Junior 350 races.

James Cowton claimed the coveted Geoff Duke Trophy for the fourth successive year, having held off a spirited challenge from Barry Davidson in the Junior Superbike race.

Whilst another rider to retain his class crown, was Mistral Racing’s Jamie Coward in the post Classic Superbike race, Jamie also finished seventh within the Senior 500 class, which was won by Greenall Racing’s Steve Ferguson.

Added riders to wrap up podium finishes where Dominic Herbertson, Gary Vines, Jeff Ward, Stephen Boyes and Dennis Booth.

Additional class winners where Iain Robertson in the Support race as Vince Biggs/ Vicky Cooke secured back to back Sidecar victories.

Which included holding off Dave Molyneux partnered by Dan Sayle aboard his maiden TT winning outfit from 1989, in the open Sidecar encounter.

Obviously the weather could have been better, but outside of this, I have to say this years Pre TT Classic Races, have been an undoubted success.

With the cancellations of the opening practice sessions at TT 2017, the action at Billown, has captured the imagination of multiple road race fans over recent days.
