Dutch rider Peter Heijmans plans to race a whole season of the Irish roads in 2013. Speaking about these plans he says; “After racing for 4 seasons now I needed a new adventure, I have raced the majority of the road races on mainland Europe. But the heart of the sport lies in Ireland so that is where I want to be next year.” Besides the national events he also hopes to race at the NW200. Since he has already raced at the UGP and ManxGP, this big international event is still missing on his list.
To make it a truly international affair he will team up with NKmotors from Germany. Top mechanic and road racer Niklas Pfeiffer is building up a supertwin on which Peter will race next year. Niklas aims to build a competitive machine and to show that he is capable of doing that. Because he hopes that this class will set of in Europe also and he would love to build more of these bikes for other people in the future.
In order to back up his professional approach towards his racing he still seeks some additional funding. As you can imagine getting bikes towards and from the Island is quite a logistic challenge. Anyone interested in helping out in all sorts of ways can contact Peter via [email protected]
