By Next to feature in Road Racing News, new One Incredible IRRC Moment series, is third place finisher in the 2023 IRRC Superbike Championship, Patrick Hoff.
A front runner this summer at Schleizer Dreieck, Circuit De Chimay, Horice and Frohburger Dreieck, his favourite recollection from his time sampling IRRC events to date, is as follows:
“There have been so many great moments this year. But if I would have to pick one of them, I think this would be the double win in Schleiz.
I arrived there late night straight from Spain with a cold or flu not feeling good. Therefore, in Qualifying I had to take a rest for some minutes, what I normally would not do.
But on race day I could manage to stay focused in the 2 races. It really felt so great even though it was no real podium with the guest riders.”
Patrick continued:
“A second moment was in the first race at Horice where I lost the front wheel for a moment and almost hit the barriers jumping over a sharp curb for 3-4 meters destroying my rim. I was lucky the tire did not lose pressure after that.
Even though I could not make a podium in horice we were second fastest timewise on the weekend and the races were incredible, what you can also see on the Livestream! We were proud about this.”
