Exactly two years ago, the latest racers to take part in Road Racing News Ten Questions Challenge series, were 2017 TT Privateers Champion Horst Saiger and 16 times Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough winner Joe Thompson.
Just some of the highlights from the interviews with the above mentioned riders, were the following:
Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?
“Best part about the roads is the people and their passion for racing, I mean the riders and spectators as well.
Nobody is doing TT year after year only to be cool, it has to be a deeper passion inside somebody to go down Bray Hill flat out.”
Q5: Most Respected Rival?
“I guess John (McGuinness) is a guy I really look up to. He’s achieved so much but it’s his natural passion for road racing that keeps him doing what he does.
It’s not because of money or to be cool, I guess he is one that money didn’t change and loves his family, just a solid good guy.”
Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?
“Definitely somewhere else in Yorkshire with over 130 mph average, that would be cool!”
Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?
“Got to be pole position, I feel more comfortable out in front than in second trying to find a way past!”
