Second in last year’s Oliver’s Mount 400cc Championship, a top forty Manx Grand Prix finisher, his answers to the set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“2019 Gold Cup, I didn’t do much riding, it was wet and soggy and Sunday the sea mist came in, must be a Gold Cup thing!”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“Got to be the fans and seeing all my racing mates.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“That’s a hard one because Oliver’s mount is unique and it breaks down into- sections but I like the run from memorial out to Drurys, it’s great for over-taking but you have to time it right.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“There’s been a few, even though I’ve won a few races and had podiums, I had a bad qualifying for a 600 race back when they had 3 600 races, A-B-C.
I was at the back of the 600 B race, it was damp, I made my way up to the podium position by lap 3 and on the last lap I crashed out of second place. It was great seeing all my friends excited about how well I was racing, it was just of those things crashing out.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Dave Suddes from BDS Motorcycles, how could anyone not love that man and what he did for our sport.
He always wanted to help, especially if he could take the p**s out of you too, man was and is a legend.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“Obviously I think everyone would love to see big bikes back there but failing that a proper sorted Grand Prix 250 2-stroke.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Exciting”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“So, this is a hard one for me because I respect everyone, who races there but I’d say Rob Hodson.
We have something in common but maybe I might have a chat to him one day, over a beer about that.”
