One of New Zealand’s foremost pure road racing talents, Michael Moulai who made his Scarborough debut seven years ago at the Spring Cup National Road Races, is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News growing in popularity, Oliver’s Mount top 8 series.
Southern 100 Supersport B race winner, Senior Manx GP runner up in 2014, his answers to the Scarborough themed set of questions are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“My first memory of Oliver’s Mount, was listening to it on the radio and thinking I had better go race there.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“It’s tight and quite technical.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“Can’t remember what it’s called but coming down over the jumps (Jefferies Jumps), to the start finish.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Watching the races held in dry conditions, as every time I raced it was wet!”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Guy Martin, when he was on form there.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“My old F06 Ducati 999 RS, never did race it there but think it would have been sweet.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Narrow”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“It’s an old cliche but everyone I’m on the grid with.”
