Various times a top 20 finisher at England’s sole, only real roads course, Kingston Upon Hull based Luke Addison-Doy is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News growing in popularity, Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series.
19th, 16th within the Super Twin races at the Cock O’The North Road Races from 2017, his answers to the Scarborough themed set of questions are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“First memory of Oliver’s Mount was from 2009, on my first ever bike a Honda X8R 50cc Scooter. I could hardly make it up the hill.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“Favourite part of racing at the Mount has to be the history and location of the course. It’s been going for so long and it’s mainland UK’s only road racing circuit.
With it only been a short drive from my home town Hull, it is our local race and within reaching distance from the coast.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“My favourite section at the Mount has to be the sweeping left hander before the straight, as your inches away from hitting the grass.
The exit speed always has to be perfect as too early your aiming for the trees but too late and you lose your momentum, and get passed by other riders like your stood still. I love how smooth that section is and how it all fits together.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Best moment for me personally was the Cock O’The North meet in 2017, as that was my debut and I had a lot of support from all over to see me race there. Very proud moment for me.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Guy Martin, he’s the man around there for me and would love to see him return. I guarantee I’m not the only one to think that.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“I’m a big fan of 600 machines, don’t get me wrong we all love a 1000 but the revs of a 600 combined with the lighter weight of it, becomes more manageable and for me more fun. I would say the Triumph Daytona 675.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“Matt Stevenson, as we both started racing together back at Derby Phoenix and we have had some amazing times, both on and off the track together. Respect the Flying Mullet!”
