Next to take part in Road Racing News, revamped Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series is two times Scarborough race winner on debut (2022 Steve Henshaw Gold Cup), Joey Lambden.
Lambden who secured a range of consistent results last year at Aberdare Park, answers to the set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“Watching it on TV with my dad and then turning up to my first race, to walk the track with my dad and uncle and realising how steep the walk was up Sheene’s Rise.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“The relaxed atmosphere in the paddock with everyone being friendly and offering advice. Also, the beer tent.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“The whole section from the start and finish line to the back straight, is probably my favourite.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Winning the first ever race I competed in at Scarborough, the Supersport ‘B’ race at the Gold Cup in 2022.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Everyone who’s ever set off from the start line.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“A good spec Supersport bike, as I’ve only ever raced fully stock 600’s round the mount. Also, I’d love to ride a 250 GP (Grand Prix) bike.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Class”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“No one really stands out as I haven’t raced here that long. Hopefully I can start mixing it a bit more towards the front, to have some friendly rivalries in the future.”
