Next to take part in Road Racing News, revamped Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series is TT rostrum finisher, passenger to George Holden for TT 2025, Jake Roberts.
P3 last year on three occasions at Scarborough aside Michael Russell, his answers to the set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“First memory was strongly disliking it believe it or not! It’s a very fast paced circuit and It’s a tough nut to crack as a sidecar passenger. It was my first time there (2024 Bob Smith Spring Cup) with Dave (Molyneux) in preparation for the TT.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“How much fun it is, the weekend as-a-whole the racing is great fun, the functions up the top are always great crack and everyone in the paddock is lovely. It’s a really-well ran race meeting!”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“Jefferies jumps hands down! No where other than the TT I’ve got a feeling as fun as hitting them jumps flat out on a sunny day!”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Best moment was probably my first overall podium there (2024 Cock O’The North). The weather was great all weekend too which is always a bonus.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“Ian Bell”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“I’d love to have a go on a two-stroke solo funnily enough, I don’t think I’d have the bottle to race one mind.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Magical”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“I wouldn’t say rival as I’ve not personally raced at their pace, but the Ramsdens (Steve & Matty) and Lee Crawford and Scott (Hardie) are the absolute dogs b******s round there, total commitment and always pushing each other.”
