Another accomplished, extremely proficient exponent of North Yorkshire’s ‘Mini TT’, Callum ‘Skoot’ Laidlaw is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News, growing in popularity Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series.
Man of The meeting award winner from the 2013 Spring Cup National Road Races, his answers to the Scarborough themed series of questions, are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“Think I was 16 was with my boss and a few of his mates. Remember Guy Martin sliding the AIM Yamaha all the way past start finish, thought that was class!! Also night life in town was good!”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“The atmosphere with the crowd, you could pick out people cheering you on, was a good feeling.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“Probably the left-right at the top of the hill, don’t know the names!”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“There’s been a lot, used to love racing there. Probably man of the meeting award at the Spring Cup in 2013, or top 6 finish in the big Gold Cup race, which was cool too.”

Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“For me personally David Jefferies, I’m a big fan of him.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“Honda RC30”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Tight”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“Tough one respect them all really. I’d say Lee Vernon and Jamie Coward, great mates off the track but on it they meant business, I like that.”
