Next to take part in Road Racing News, revamped Oliver’s Mount Top 8 series is Aberdare Park Road Races race winner, Lincoln’s Brandon Brinded.
Third within the sole Supersport B race of last September’s Steve Henshaw Gold Cup meeting, his answers to the set of questions, are as follows:
Q1: First memory of Oliver’s Mount?
“The first memory of Oliver’s mount that comes to mind would be going to watch my friend John Marsh race, and thinking, oh my god, I want to look as cool as that over the jumps.”
Q2: Favourite part about racing at the mount?
“My favourite part about racing the mount would be about lap 3 of practice, my heads up to speed, the nerves have gone, no pressure to perform at all I’m just doing skids and wheelies having a good time.”
Q3: Favourite section of Scarborough course?
“This is tricky, I love the jumps but also like scraping my elbow round esses out. I’m going to have to say the jumps because it’s super fun gritting your teeth and going full send over the rises and dips while the bike dances about.”
Q4: Best moment thus far at Scarborough?
“Best moment at Scarborough for me so far, would be my second time there at the Spring Cup last year. After Saturdays B-race, I finished 3rd and I believe I set the fastest lap of that race, then woke up on Sunday to see I was in the A races which was a huge milestone for me.”
Q5: All time Scarborough racing hero?
“All time racing hero at Scarborough has got to be David Jefferies, from entertaining the crowd between races to his style and attitude the bloke was a legend.”
Q6: Is there one machine in particular that you would like to race at Scarborough?
“If I could I’d love to have a go on a ZXR 400 (Kawasaki) or something similar round there.”
Q7: One word to describe Oliver’s Mount?
“Awesome”
Q8: Most respected racing rival at Scarborough?
“My most respected rival at-the moment would be a lad called Jack Worth. We rode the same bikes this year and had a good few races with him wheel to wheel, he’s one to watch in the future for sure.”
