North West 200: Seeley Blitzes 600 Lap Record On Route To Supersport Race 2 Glory

The large capacity crowd today at the Vauxhall International North West 200, were treated to an absolute masterclass from Alastair Seeley, who produced yet another magical display around the Triangle to take his tally of NW200 victories to 23.

Involved in an eight rider battle throughout for race honours, the last two laps saw EHA Racing’s Seeley literally pull the pin, breaking away from the chasing pack.

The sixth and final lap saw him power his YZF R6 Yamaha steed to a dazzling new class lap record of 4 minutes 33.864 seconds, as he further cemented his reputation as no doubt one of the greatest ever exponents of the North West 200.

Dean Harrison held off Michael Dunlop for fourth, Martin Jessopp was sixth, Conor Cummins sealed a solid seventh place finish, whilst Lee Hardy Racing’s Gary Johnson in contention throughout for a rostrum finish or better, dropped back to eighth.
