Ranging from overseas to up coming new roads talent, seven riders have recently been unveiled as prospective newcomers this year, to the popular Colas Billown course.
Amongst them includes leading French Mountain Course exponent Timothee Monot, who’s planning to tackle the curtain raiser of the TT 2018 festival, the Post TT Races.
IRRC regular Jean Pierre Polet, Germany’s Mike Bammann and Littleborough’s Stephen Bostock are all Billown bound, for July’s Southern 100.
Same applies to Hyde’s Anthony Harrison, Christchurch’s Jack Petrie and Derby’s Richard Eglin.
Another racer aiming to sample Billown for the first time this year, is reigning Lightweight Manx GP champion Darren Cooper, who for 2018 on the roads, is competing for NW (Noel Williamson) Racing aboard S1000RR BMW, ZX6R, ER6 Kawasaki machinery.
The positive influx of newcomers, is the latest enterprising news for Southern 100 organisers who last Friday, unveiled an impressive list of new sponsorship deals for the ‘Friendly Races’.
