TT wins record carrier Michael Dunlop, latest Manx Grand Prix project will spotlight action aboard Italian motorcycling royalty, Ducati’s four times World Superbike Championship winning 916-instrument.
Always keen for that next big challenge, Dunlop’s move to Ducati exotica gives him a chance of expanding the list of manufacturers, he’s already taken Mountain Course race wins with (Honda-Yamaha-Suzuki-Kawasaki-Paton-BMW-MV Agusta).
Last year, Dean Harrison astride the Key Racing Duke, projected the 916’s potential, lapping close to 126 mph, embroiled in a nip and tuck battle with ‘MD’ for Classic SBK honours before technical gremlins arose.
This is perhaps the one aspect which will be crucial as to whether the 29 times TT winner, can create more IOM road racing history.
Also disclosed this morning, Supersport & Super Twins TT lap record holder Dunlop is a verified entrant in the Lightweight category, riding RS 250 Honda apparatus under his own teams’ banner.
Same as with Ducati Classic SBK exploration, only one position matters for ‘Maverick’, P1.
We haven’t got long to wait to find out whether his combined TT-Classic TT-Manx GP wins total of 37 victories, advances further.
