Matthew Rees All Set For Triangle And Mountain Course Competition

Established amongst Wales leading pure road racers, Matthew Rees is targeting many a first class result, during the Vauxhall International North West 200 and TT 2016.

For competition around the Triangle and the Mountain Course, he’s set to pilot GT Superbikes/Phil Morris Racing backed ZX10R Kawasaki, plus he will be in action on a Harry Corbett backed ZXR 600 Kawasaki.

Plus Matthew will be aiming to spring a surprise or two, in the TT zero race, as he competes for Bath University.

Main highlights of his 2016 roads campaign to date have included second place finish in the non qualifiers race, at the Spring Cup National Road Races, at Oliver’s Mount.

Open and grand final races at the Tandragee 100 saw him wrap up highly respectable twenty fourth and twenty eighth place finishes.

His Cookstown 100 debut, saw him gel quickly with the popular Orritor circuit, as he chalked up tenth and fourteenth place finishes in the open B superbike and supersport B races.

Currently holding thirty sixth position in the 2016 Duke Road Race Rankings championship, next week marks Matthew’s second North West 200 appearance.

Whilst a lot of attention will be on many of the anticipated front runners, it’s worth remembering that without privateers like Matthew and many like him, the meeting would not gain grids in excess of 50 riders.
