Manx Grand Prix 2013 – Junior Race Report

Michael Sweeney won a dramatic junior Manx grand prix after long time leader James Cowton ran out of fuel on lap 4. Michael competing on a R6 Yamaha backed by Mick Jones racing was victorious by 40.899 seconds over second place finisher Michael Russell on the Ducks cross racing R6 Yamaha.
Andy Lawson produced a top ride to finish in third place whilst Colin Stephenson on the team Hairysnid racing R6 Yamaha finished in a good fourth place. Stephen Mcknight finished in fifth place in front of Michael Moulai who showed good form in finishing in sixth position.
Stephen Harper, Rob Hodson, Tim Poole and Anthony Redmond completed the top 10. Paul Smyth finished in a solid 11th place on the PRF racing GSX-R 600 Suzuki, Andy Farrell acquired a consistent 12th place finish on the Martin Bullock Manxsport R6 Yamaha.
James Shipley back competing at the Manx grand prix this year came home in a consistent 13th place on the Shipley racing CBR 600 Honda. Kamil Holan, Andrew Soar, Glenn Harrison, Tuukka Korhonen, Rab Davie, Richard Charlton and Andy Fenton rounded out the top 20. James Cowton set the fastest lap of the race with a superb lap speed of 119.659 mph.
