Manx GP Top 6: Dan Ingham

Manx GP Top 6: Dan Ingham

Runner-up within the opening Ultra Lightweight race from 2018, new ‘Tommy Club’ addition Dan Ingham is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News, rising in popularity Manx GP Top 6 series.

Lead 750 mounted competitor in last year’s Senior Manx Grand Prix, his answers to the Mountain Course themed set of questions are as follows:

Q1: When you first competed at the Manx, what was your first initial thought of the Mountain Course?

“I didn’t really enjoy my first lap. I was following someone who didn’t look like they did much homework which was unnerving.

Had to drop back which meant I couldn’t learn the lines from the instructor. The next lap was when it all really sunk in and I could enjoy it.”

Q2: Most memorable Manx GP bike?

“My RVF 400 (Honda) is my most favourite bike to ride round there. Handles really well and is most enjoyable to ride as it’s at a steady pace. It’s almost like a fast Sunday ride on it.”

Q3: Most treasured memory from the Manx?

“My podium on the 400 was good in 2018 but my best memory was joining the Tommy Club in 2019.”

Q4: Is there one specific Manx GP competitor that you look up to?

“Don’t really have anyone specific but anybody who decides to tackle the Mountain Course needs respect.”

Q5: Describe the Manx GP in one word?

“Incredible”

Q6: Finally, if you could race one machine from any series, championship around the Mountain Course, what would it be?

“Would have to be my dream race bike. A Yamaha TZ250.”
