Manx GP: Davies Motorsport Unveil Classic Senior, Superbike Plans

Hoping to elevate an already impressive Mountain Course racing CV, Davies Motorsport’s three-strong rider challenge for the 100th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix, has recently been unveiled.

Team-mainstay Dominic Herbertson, Junior Classic TT winner in 2018, knows what it takes to conquer yesteryear racing classes and it wouldn’t at all be a surprise if this month he’s in prime position for Classic Senior race spoils.

Joining Herbertson in being astride TX 500 Yamaha tackle is none other than, nine times Macau Grand Prix winner, seven times TT victor Michael Rutter.

Whilst retaining the Classic Senior title, won last year by Ashcourt Racing’s Lee Johnston, is a prime objective, Davies Motorsport will also have an eye on the yesteryear Superbike class.

John Davies squad has secured the services of Irish Road Race Supersport Champion Michael Browne, to pilot YZF 750 Yamaha machinery.

As shown at TT 2023, Cork’s Browne is a rapid, rising pure roads force and if not for rotten luck in the second Carole Nash Super Twins encounter, would have joined the TT winners’ circle.

Alongside Herbertson, Rutter, he gives the Davies Motorsport outfit one of the best all-round rider line-ups of the 2023 Manx GP, one that boasts 19 TT podium finishes and three Classic TT triumphs.
