Following on from yesterday’s Macau GP entry update, another event first-timer has been confirmed, 2018 Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Matt Stevenson.
Quietly impressing during this year’s TT Races, Peoples Bike Team stalwart Stevenson placed a very creditable 15th in the RST Superbike race, on route lapping close to the 124-mph lap mark.
12th within the feature race at Armoy, consistently at the sharp end at Aberdare Park, Stevenson is firmly amongst England’s most improved closed roads course pilots.
Speaking via his Facebook racing page, about the upcoming Guia Circuit challenge, he stated:
“About a week ago I got asked if I would be interested in competing in the Macau Grand Prix, which isn’t really an offer you can turn down!
But this will mean three weeks off work unpaid and I’ll be using the BMW.
With my dad and Basomba Racing sorting two mechanics out, it looks like we are good to go!
With the bike parts, unpaid leave and pay for the mechanics its far from cheap!
Anyone wanting to help out sponsorship wise it would be much appreciated and very good timing!”
