Macau GP Latest: Schoots Set To Open Guia Circuit Account

Dutch female road racer Nadieh Schoots is set to make her Macau Grand Prix debut this November, writing history in the process as the first woman to ever compete on a motorcycle at this famously dangerous road race.

Four years after she was originally invited by the Macau GP organisation but had to bow out due to injury, the stars have finally aligned and Nadieh couldn’t be happier with the last-minute opportunity.

“I’ve dreamed of racing the Macau GP ever since meeting Dutch road racer Branko Srdanov in 2012, when we both competed in IDM (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft).

Actually, at the time I did not believe it was something I could or would ever do, I simply thought it was the coolest race I’d ever seen.

Yet a decade and a lot of blood, sweat and tears later, here we are. Not only do I make my own debut, I’ll be the first woman to ever race a motorcycle at Macau. I’m incredibly excited, and hope to inspire more women to follow in my footsteps!”

As this year’s invite for the event came around very late, Nadieh and her team have plenty of sponsorship opportunities available for the Macau GP and could very much use the help.

You can get in touch via her website or at [email protected] and for individuals who’d like to contribute but don’t have much to spare – keep an eye out for a small crowdfunding campaign.
