McLean, a previous class runner-up, main apparatus is Laylaw Racing’s proven TZ 250 Yamaha. Starting ten seconds behind is recent Armoy podium finisher, Laxey’s Joe Yeardsley (Scott Racing Motorcycles – TZ 250 Yamaha).
Two more TZ 250 Yamaha mounted competitors follow, twice class winner Michael Browne and ten times TT winner Ian Lougher, both riding again for Eddie Laycock’s Danfay Yamaha sponsored Laycock Racing outfit.
2-stroke racing connoisseur, third place finisher last year, Stuart Hall (Whippet Racing – TZ 250 Yamaha) is-assigned the five-plate.
Next scheduled to blast down Bray Hill is the most successful racer in TT Races history, Michael Dunlop (MD Racing – RS 250 Honda).
Gareth Arnold (Jenar Racing – TZ 250 Yamaha) goes at seven, then it is Rhys Hardisty (No.8 – Laylaw Racing – TZ 250 Yamaha), versatile racing all-rounder, Dan Sayle (No.9 – John Chapman Racing – TZ 250 Yamaha).
Chris ‘Rabbit’ Moore (Outhwaite Plane/Silverstar/iHeat Racing – TZ 250 Yamaha) finalises the opening ten starters.
Eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen plate carriers Nathan Harrison (H&H Motorcycles – RVF 400 Honda), back to race fitness Immingham’s Craig Neve (Callmac Scaffolding/RB Engineering – ZXR 400 Kawasaki), Michael Sweeney (CSC Racing/IMS LTD – TZ 250 Yamaha), Pipe Werx/Tony Leach Joinery backed Alan Oversby, all have the clever race craft, Mountain Course knowledge to gain excellent results.
You can apply the same notion to 15-19 plate starters, Michal ‘Indi’ Dokoupil (Cookson Travel – TZ 250 Yamaha), Bimota Classic Racing’s Sam West, Paul Cassidy with the Green Racing FZR 400 Yamaha, Supersport 400 specialist, M&D Racing challenger Darryl Tweed and Superbike TT top twenty finisher, Jonathan Perry aboard J.A.P Racing’s CBR 400 Honda.
