Duke Road Race Rankings Champion Michael Sweeney, underlined his pre-race favourite status with a commanding performance in the opening Superbike race at Kells.
After a last corner error, the conclusion of lap one saw Sweeney headed by Graham Kennedy, who led by just over 0.8 of a second.
From lap two on-wards though, Martin Jones Racing BMW mounted Sweeney took command and by lap mid-race distance was 4.54 seconds clear.
His final race winning margin stood at a huge 10.281 seconds over fellow Manx GP winner Thomas Maxwell, who had overhauled early pace setter Kennedy.
Wilson Craig Racing’s Darryl Tweed took fourth, road racing returnee Richard McLoughlin placed fifth as Welshman Matt Rees concluded the top six.
Positions seventh to tenth were occupied by Damian Horan, Donald MacFadyen, Dermot Cleary and Dennis Booth.
Remaining finishers outside the top ten were Alan Connor, David Howard, Alan Johnston and Andy McAllister.
