Event wildcards to the fore, was the correct way to sum up IRRC Superbike qualifying at Schleizer Dreieck, as Julian Puffe, Luca Salvadori set a soaring turn of speed.
Both, Puffe, Salvadori, winner of both IRRC SBK races at Hengelo, were under the existing event lap record. Ultimately 19 plate carrier Puffe took qualifying victory, lapping at 1 minute 25.496 seconds.
Third fastest behind Salvadori (1.25.887) was leading full-time IRRC 2024 exponent, Come Geenen (1.26.819).
Ville Valtonen (1.26.845), Championship leader Lukas Maurer (1.27.445) attained fourth, fifth quickest times whilst just 0.013 of a second separated, sixth, seventh rapidest competitors, Macau GP podium finishers, Sheridan Morais (1.27.651), David Datzer (1.27.664).
Rounding out SBK Q2 top fifteen were Julius Ilmberger (1.27.962), Marc Neumann (1.28.293), Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Jorn Hamberg (1.28.859).
Micky Winkler (1.28.965), IRRC wins record-holder Didier Grams (1.29.549), Luca Gottardi (1.29.814), Markus Karlsson (1.29.884) and Reto-Luc Wiederkehr (1.29.944).
UK competitors wise, the Never Be Clever Racing pair of Darryl Tweed, Rhys Hardisty placed respectively nineteenth, twenty fifth fastest.
