Pesky wet weather returned to Imatranajo, ahead of the second IRRC Superbike encounter, which was reduced to six laps.
Yet again, the man to beat was Finland’s leading pure road racer, Erno Kostamo.
Amongst the fastest Mountain Course newcomers of TT 2023, Kostamo was again this afternoon illustrating calm, cool, dependable form.
Quickly into the lead on lap one, he surged away from the chasing pack which was led by none other than 13 times TT winner Peter Hickman.
Hickman aboard stock M1000RR BMW machinery, finished a shade over 6.3 seconds behind Macau GP winner Kostamo.
Only 0.277 additionally down on Hickman was Ville Valtonen.
Eemeli Lahti placed fourth with leading IRRC Championship exponent, again Swiss ace Lukas Maurer.
David Datzer completed the top leader-board top six with the remainder of the first ten finishers, wrapped up by Nico Muller, Luca Gottardi, Patrick Hoff and Didier Grams.
Outside the top ten, others banking solid results included Forest Dunn (15th), Rasmus Lindstom (16th) and Pontus Roestlinger (17th).
