IRRC Chimay: McLean Dashes To Morning Supersport Supremacy

Adam McLean gained ground this morning at Circuit De Chimay on IRRC Championship rivals Petr Najman and Marek Cerveny, dashing to Supersport Race One supremacy.

The Tobermore rider has cut his deficit to new series leader Najman (Laserscanning Europe by PSB Motorsport – Yamaha) to just ten points after a riveting showing astride the Performance Racing Achterhoek YZF R6 Yamaha, beating his own existing 600cc lap record on lap three, banking a new history making lap time of 1.40.608 seconds.

Najman took second, 4.579 adrift of McLean with reigning Champion Cerveny (WRP Wepol Racing Parts – Triumph) third, 2.859 further adrift.

Gary Johnson (Team Schleizer Dreieck – Suzuki) fresh from BeNeLux Trophy Supersport Race 1 victory, positioned a creditable fourth.

Ilja Caljouw made it two Performance Racing Achterhoek riders in the top five, Matej Vit was sixth, event wildcard Kevin Mos was seventh.

Concluding those to gain first ten finishing spots were Ballymoney ace Darryl Tweed (Never Be Clever Racing – Yamaha), improving IRRC exponent David Brook (Brook suspension.com – Triumph) and Rico Vetter (Vetter Racing Performance by SIEVI – Kawasaki).
