IRRC 2026: Najman Clinches Hengelo Supersport R2, Into Championship Lead

Just two races in and the battle to become 2026 IRRC Supersport Champion, is already heating up!

Hengelo, Varsserling Supersport Race 2 conqueror, Festa Tools by Najmanmotorsport’s Petr Najman tying Pierre-Yves Bian, Lukas Maurer, Timothy Baken on six IRRC race victories, is the new Championship leader (by four points), following a textbook, faultless performance.

New joint most winning rider in IRRC history, Marek Cerveny, made the initial best start before Najman in determined fashion dashed past Cerveny.

0.762 ahead as lap two dawned, Najman gradually lap by lap augmented the race-lead to an unassailable advantage, ending P1 by 3.51 seconds with Matej Vit producing one of the best performances in his pure road racing career to date, besting his illustrious compatriot Cerveny for second.

Opening SSP race rostrum finisher Ilja Caljouw placed fourth, twice TT winner, ‘130 Mph Club’ member Gary Johnson battled to fifth with Team Schleizer Dreieck team-mate Sebastian Frotscher, rounding out the leader-board top six.
