IRRC 2025 – Schleizer Dreieck: Weekend Stats/Facts

* It was the seventh visit of IRRC competitors to Schleizer Dreieck after 2010-2012, 2017, 2023-2024 visits.

* Additionally, it was also the fifth edition of the titled Thuringer Motorsport Meeting at Schleiz, post previous expeditions in 2019, 2022-2024.

* There is 102 years of racing history at Germany’s oldest street circuit since 1923.

* Twelve racers set sub 1:30 lap-times in IRRC races last weekend, they were Julian Puffe (1.25.821), Freddie Heinrich (1.27.545), Marvin Siebdrath (1.27.836), Roger Bantli (1.28.088), Johannes Schwimmbeck (1.28.137), Damien Raemy (1.28.199), Martin van Ruitenbeek (1.28.596), Marek Cerveny (1.29.270), Darryl Tweed (1.29.531), Gary Johnson (1.29.713), Laurent Hoffmann (1.29.728), Fedrik Matthys (1.29.940).

* Six different countries gained representation within the ten fastest racers of the meeting: Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, and England.

* 21 years old youngster, IDM Supersport rider Marvin Siebdrath (1.27.836) is the new IRRC Supersport lap record holder. He beat last years’ record time set by Adam McLean (1.29.066 as newcomer on this track) plus gained double IRRC Supersport race wins in his IRRC racing premiere, similar style to Richard Cooper’s at Imatranajo.

* 29 years old, local matador, IDM and EWC experienced rider, IRRC SBK lap-record holder at Schleiz, Julian Puffe bagged as in 2024, IRRC Superbike wins x2.

* Now India’s fastest IRRC Schleiz exponent, Rushab Shah (1.36.672) added another roads/street circuit to his road racing CV, after Frohburger Dreieck, Horice and Circuit De Chimay. He returns next month to Frohburg.

* Current IRRC Superbike Championship leader, Never Be Clever Racing’s Darryl Tweed (P6 x2 in SBK races – last Sunday) travelled back post Schleiz activities to the Isle of Man for the Classic TT but in the end was a non-starter for the Lightweight race, the very next day (race red-flagged on Monday, race restart postponed to Wednesday).

* Czech ace Petr Najman progressed during the second IRRC Supersport Race from twenty fifth on the grid to tenth (starting from last position on the grid due to late arrival for sighting lap, from the paddock).

* Five times IRRC Supersport Champion, Marek Cerveny was the only permanent IRRC rider to grace a race podium (P3 x2) with event wildcards Marvin Siebdrath, Damien Raemy, Julian Puffe, Freddie Heinrich, and Roger Bantli. Very-close to podium finishes were Team Schleizer Dreieck’s Gary Johnson (P4 x2) and Matej Vit (P5 x2) in Supersport and Johannes Schwimmbeck (P4 x2) in Superbike.

* International Sidecar races included 2021 World Sidecar Champion, Switzerland’s Markus Schlosser (P2/P1 last weekend) with his passenger Luca Schmidt (Schleiz citizen) and former TT Sidecars pilots Mike Roscher, Michael Grabmuller

* The Schleizer Dreieck circuit is less than an hour and a half drive-away from Frohburger Dreieck (traditional IRRC finale – this year’s dates – 20th-21st of September) plus an hours drive-away from legendary Grand Prix circuit, the Sachsenring where sadly multiple TT winners Jimmy Guthrie in 1937 and Bill Ivy, Jawa factoy rider in 1969, lost their lives.

* Huge thanks to the organisers, riders, spectators, sponsors, emergency services, everyone involved in the spectacular Schleizer Dreieck races.
