IRRC 2025: Najman Pinches Horice Supersport Pole

A fair chunk ahead pace wise in Q1, it was no surprise to see the leading lights in second IRRC Horice Supersport qualifying been Czech roads scene, tour-de-forces Marek Cerveny and Petr Najman.

Five times IRRC Champion Cerveny (WRL Wepol Racing Parts – Triumph) was first to lay the gauntlet down, ducking inside 2 minutes 16 seconds.

Najman (Laserscanning Europe by PSB Motorsport – Yamaha) quickly joined his IRRC Supersport title rival, in achieving this feat (2.15.938).

With sub four minutes of Q2 left, Najman went faster, circulating the 5.15 kilometres long Horice course in 2.15.714 seconds, giving him provisional pole by 0.157 of a second.

Q2 closing stages saw Najman and Cerveny, in close proximity on track, neither though could unlock a new best lap time.

Third quickest, Wolfgang ‘Wolfi’ Schuster (2.17.061 – Schuster Road Racing – Yamaha) was 1.347 adrift of outright qualifying conqueror Najman, 1.19 down on Horice wins record holder Cerveny.

Below half a second covered respective fourth-sixth quickest riders, Karel ‘Chupa’ Brandtner (2.18.560), Mauro Poncini (2.18.782) and twice TT victor, Team Schleizer Dreieck’s Gary ‘AKA Driver’ Johnson (2.18.859).

Matej Vit (2.19.467) attained the seventh rapidest time closely followed by Darryl Tweed (2.19.777 – Never Be Clever Racing – Yamaha).

The Supersport Q2 lead ten was completed by Performance Racing Achterhoek’s lead rider this weekend, following Adam McLean’s withdrawal, Ilja Caljouw (2.20.332) and Swedish talent Markus Karlsson (2.21.270).
