IRRC 2024: Najman Sweeps Horice Supersport Qualifying

Laserscanning Europe by PSB Motorsport’s Petr Najman, swept to ‘Czech TT’ Supersport qualifying victory, having commanded first, second qualifying sessions.

Supersport Q2 at a sun-drenched Horice, had to originally be red flagged with just over fourteen minutes of the session to go, due to an incident involving Rico Vetter.

Once qualifying re-commenced, competitors had minus 15 minutes, to set potent turns of speed.

The previously showcased Najman, consolidated pole for tomorrow’s middleweight class race contests in great style, almost lapping in the 2:16 seconds bracket, (best lap time achieved – 2.17.059 seconds).

Clinching the second swiftest time behind Najman was fellow Czechia rider, 31 times an IRRC affiliated race winner, Marek Cerveny, following a last gasp of 2 minutes 18.471 seconds.

Extremely impressive Horice first-timer, Performance Racing Achterhoek’s Adam McLean (2.18.687), was only 0.216 slower than Cerveny, in finishing overall third quickest.

Just past 0.4 of a second would separate fourth-sixth fastest outright, Wolfgang ‘Wolfi’ Schuster (2.19.507), Karel Brandtner (2.19.511) and Gary Johnson (2.19.910), continuing to chip away with the Team Schleizer Dreieck machine.

Rounding out the Supersport Q2 top ten were Ilja Caljouw (2.20.648), Matous Ondrusz (2.21.360), Mauro Poncini (2.21.527) and Karel Pesek (2.21.864).

Rhys Hardisty collected the thirteenth speediest time whilst fellow Brits Jamie Williams, Darryl Tweed, Mike Mace, Brian Fuidge were sixteenth, twenty first, twenty ninth, thirty second respectively on the timing screens.
