The 2021 International Road Racing Championship calendar has received a sudden shake up due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with Imatranajo now set to host the season opening round in July.
Netherlands most famous roads course the Hengelo based Varsselring, was originally hoped to kick start 2021 IRRC competition but recently event organisers Hamove made the decision to postpone the meeting till September.

A statement issued by Hamove Chairman Fred Versteege via Hamove’s official website stated:
“Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions by the government, the board sees no possibilities to organize the HAMOVE Road Race on our Varsselring circuit during the first weekend of May.
To bring about a Corona-proof event, May 1 and 2 is too early. It was difficult to find a replacement date, but we have found a best option on September 4 and 5, 2021. We hope to have more ‘freedom’ by then.”
The updated 2021 IRRC calendar reads as follows:
2nd-4th July: Imatranajo
23rd-25th July: Circuit De Chimay
14th-15th August: Horice
4th-5th September: Hengelo, Varsselring
18th-19th September: Frohburger Dreieck
