The nearest you’ll get presently to real road racing in Italy, the CIVS (Campionato Italiano Velocita in Salita) hill climb events year in year out provide captivating, exhilarating action.
For 2022, no less than seven national hill climbs are scheduled to take place, with opening rounds at Passo Dello Spino (28th-29th May).
Racing follows at Deruta (12th June), Isola Del Liri (26th June), Spolento Forca Di Cerro (16th-17th July) and Volterra (18th September).
Competitors going into next year as reigning CIVS hill climb Champions include the following:
Dario Bursi (Scooter/Mini Open), Manuel Dal Molin (125 Two Strokes), Marco Lombardi (Super Open 300), Cristian Olcese (250 Two Strokes).
Maurizio Bottalico (Supersport 600), Fabio Ricca (Quad Bikes) and North West 200 winner, Classic TT rostrum finisher Stefano Bonetti (Superbike).
