By The lofty standard at this year’s Honda Invercargill Street Races, was illustrated by the fact that 17 racers banked sub 44 seconds lap times.
Not surprisingly quickest overall was forthright F1 Superbike force Tony Rees, who during the third, final Superbike race recorded a best lap time of 39.662 seconds.
Second quickest behind Rees was fellow NZ roads veteran Heath Botica (40.060) whilst third fastest Jonny Lewis (40.191) also came close to nudging under the 40 seconds barrier.
Fourth to tenth fastest competitors were double F2 Supersport winner Luca Durning (40.412), Dan McKenzie (41.023), John Oliver (41.484), Super Motard front runner Andrew Rudd (42.298), Duncan McIntyre (42.765), Roger Bland (42.915) and Michael Lee (42.936).
