Post unpredictable weather, hours, hours and hours of riding, 14 times TT podium finisher James Hillier is close to reaching the halfway point of the 2023 Dakar Rally.
Today’s fifth timed stage, proved as with prior stages, gruelling, demanding, ultra-challenging for the 2013 Lightweight TT winner.
At the Ha’il based stage’s conclusion, which lasted almost seven hours! OMG Racing’s Hillier finished 73rd quickest.
He now stands tenth in class, 66th in the overall motorbike race rankings, which is presently headed by Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Skyler Howes.
One can’t but have admiration for Ringwood racer Hillier, who has already made his mark on the world’s most famous rally raid event.
Tomorrow’s Dakar stage in Saudi Arabia, which exceeds 460 kilometres sees racers travel from Ha’il up to Al Duwadimi.
