A high quality year of pure road racing action is anticipated this year around Billown.
The iconic road race circuit is home of the hugely popular Southern 100. 2016 Southern 100 takes place from the 11th to the 14th of July.
Anticipated entrants for the prestigious meet include Tyco BMW’s Guy Martin, bidding for his fourth solo championship success.
Plus Silicone Engineering Racing’s Dean Harrison, Ivan Lintin, Michael Dunlop, James Cowton and Dan Kneen piloting Mar Train Racing YZF R6 and YZF R1M Yamaha’s.
Blackford pre TT classic road races are set to take place from the 27th to the 30th of May, looks set to attract a wide ranging entry list consisting of classic racing specialists, rising roads stars and TT winners.
The post TT races, taking place on the 11th of June, has in recent years seen many a top class road racer make their debut around Billown.
Dean Harrison is the current lap record holder around Billown, in 2014 on his way to second place finish in the Southern 100 solo championship, Dean lapped at 114.601 mph.
Will the 2014 lightweight TT winner clinch his first solo championship success this year? or will Guy Martin make it four solo championship victories, or could we see a new winner of one of pure road racing’s most coveted races.
