Hickman Looking Forward To Superbike Battle Royals At The MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix

Pokerstars Senior TT champion Peter Hickman is looking forward to battling for Superbike victories in August at the MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix, as he bids to take his international roads wins total into double figures.

The first rider in history to lap the fabled Mountain Course at over the 135 mph mark, he’s regarded by many following his TT 2018 feats as now being the world’s leading international road racer.

Winner of the Superstock and Supersport races at last years Ulster GP, he’s confident that if the weathers right and track conditions are spot on, that the world’s fastest road race title could well return to Dundrod in just over a months time.

Speaking recently about this topic, plus praising the Smiths Racing BMW Superbike that he will pilot for his fifth Ulster GP campaign, he stated:

“There’s obviously a lot of talk about the Ulster off the back of the TT, and I’ve had to do a bit of groveling to Noel about taking the lap record, but it is what it is.

If we get weather like we did at the TT there’s a really good chance we’ll be bringing it back to Northern Ireland as it’s such a fast circuit.

I’m really looking forward to Dundrod. The Smiths Racing BMW has been amazing and while BSB has got off to a slightly slower start, the road racing side of things has been really strong.

The track time has been invaluable though and I’m really happy with what I’ve got and the people around me, and that’s what makes a big difference.”
