Gold Cup Preview Series Part 5 – 400, Two Stroke, CB 500 Delight
Multiple class honours are up for grabs in this weekend’s, six-lap Road Racing News Lightweight races at the Steve Henshaw Gold Cup.

New to Scarborough racing itinerary in April at the Bob Smith Spring Cup, the CB 500 Honda category, has quickly gained praise plus from hardened pure road racing super fans.

Nine racers have attained entries for the fourth instalment of CB500 action at Scarborough, including:

No Limits Racing Champion Ricky Martin (Cut In Edge Decorating/Lexel Engineering), Spring Cup front runner Grant Whitaker, rising Oliver’s Mount force Don Gilbert (IOM Bike Storage).

Dan Blades, Richard Hughes, Bailey Harker who is also set for Super Twins competition and D&M Racing/M.R.S Racing supported Martin Robbins.

In terms of combined 125, 250 two-stroke, 400cc 4-stroke participants, the entry total stands at a very respectable seventeen.

Notable entrants include, to name but a few:

Bob Smith Spring Cup Champion, Oliver’s Mount Championship leader Joey ‘Yorkshire’ Thompson, race winner times four across the Barry Sheene Classic, Gary McCoy.

Scarborough wins record holder, ten times TT winner Ian Lougher, Kelly Carruthers (Stuart Hamilton), Andrew Murphy (PCRS Bikesport), Ben Shuttlewood (KY-JAX Racing), Kingston Upon Hull’s Richie Welsh.

Tony Flinton, Jack Worth, renowned motorcycle racing journalist John McComisky, Lissy Whitmore and newcomers, local pilot, Ninja Kawasaki mounted William Grant (Grant & Go Racing), top Ultra Lightweight speedster of the 100th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix, Paul Cassidy (Island Fuels).
