Formula 1 Classic TT Preview

This years formula 1 classic TT is set to be fiercely contested with TT winners, rising stars, experienced competitors and classic racing specialists all competing in it.

Reigning formula 1 classic TT winner Michael Dunlop will be hard to beat on 1100 XR69 Suzuki run by team classic Suzuki. Joining Michael at team classic Suzuki is 2013 TT privateers champion Lee Johnston, combined its a formidable team.

At Barry Sheene road race festival Dean Harrison proved the potential of Mistral racing ZXR 750 Kawasaki by winning Barry Sheene trophy and the 2014 lightweight TT winner has to start one of the favourites for formula 1 classic TT victory.

Dean’s in arguably the best form of his career as is Dan Kneen. Dan is Suzuki mounted competing for RLR motorsports alongside seasoned competitor Paul Shoesmith.

Team winfield have a dynamic line up with three times TT winner Ryan Farquhar and this years supersport TT race 1 winner on Smiths Triumph Gary Johnson. Both Ryan and Gary are competing on 1100 Harris Yamaha’s.

Russ Mountford secured third place finish in Barry Sheene trophy race at Barry Sheene road race festival on team York Suzuki. Runner up in 2014 TT privateers championship Russ is a dark horse for a podium finish as is James Hillier.

James competing for Jackson racing on a ZXR 750 Kawasaki had a string of consistent results at TT 2014 including second place finish in lightweight TT. Carl Rennie is all set to return to competing on the mountain course for first time in four years on a GSX-R 750 Suzuki.

Richard Wilson Norton rotary mounted and Ben Wylie competing on a YB4 Bimota provide added variety to the entry as does Mick Godfrey on Alfs motorcycles 888 Ducati.

One of the most exciting entries for formula 1 classic TT is in the form of Valvoline racing by Padgetts motorcycles running Bruce Anstey on a YZR 500 Yamaha. Expectations are high for TT lap record holder Bruce and team as they bid for another win around the most famous road race circuit in the world.

1993 formula 1 TT winner Nick Jefferies, 8th place finisher in this years lightweight TT Dan Cooper and sidecar TT legend Dan Sayle are all competing on RC30 Honda’s one of the most popular TT bikes of the last thirty years.

2012 TT privateers champion Dan Stewart, John Barton, Paul Duckett, Fabrice Miguet and Graham English all have the potential to achieve standout results in a race which is sure to be a enthralling one.
