Waterford’s Brian McCormack gave the FHO Racing/Roadhouse Macau squad their first Irish national roads success, after coming out on top from an enthralling Open race.
Following six ultra-keenly contested laps, ‘Big Mac’ emerged just 0.034 of a second in front of pole sitter, Duke Road Race Rankings leader Michael Sweeney.
Taking third behind Sweeney who set the fastest lap of the race, increased his Irish Road Race Superbike Championship lead was 24 plate holder the improving Graham Kennedy.
BE Racing/RK Racing’s Michael Browne took fourth whilst fifth, sixth places respectively went to Lightweight race runner-up Stephen Tobin and Liam Chawke.
Others to complete the six-lap encounter were Paul Fallon and 92 plate holder Noel Carroll.
The only non-finisher was former Manx GP winner, top ten TT finisher James Chawke.
