European Hill Climb Road Race Championship: 2021 Series Wrap Up

As stated many times by me, hill climbs in essence aren’t full on pure road races but they are similar in terms of layout when compared to countless roads circuits across planet earth.

This year’s FIM Europe supported European Hill Climb Road Race Championship which commenced in late May, has had events in Italy, Austria with competitors taking in the picturesque, aesthetically pleasing Passo Dello Spino, Isola Del Liri and Bergrennen Julbach courses.

Reflecting on the 2021 series, as previously showcased North West 200 winner, Classic TT podium finisher Stefano Bonetti retained the Superbike class crown whilst Supersport title honours as in 2020 went to fellow countryman Maurizio Bottalico.

Remaining title winners were four times successive 250 GP Champion Guido Testoni and Philippe Bongard (Super Moto).
