European Hill Climb Championship Round 2, Poggio-Vallefredda

Round 2 of the 2021 FIM European Hill Climb Championship in Lazio, Italy didn’t fail to provide world class, captivating time trial roads action.

As at Passo Dello Spino, North West 200 winner Stefano Bonetti reigned supreme within the premier Superbike category, holding off tenacious, gritty challenges from fellow countryman Salvatore Sallustro.

Three seconds quicker than Sallustro around the Poggio-Vallefredda hill climb course in the SBK races, 2019 Senior Classic TT runner-up Bonetti is on course to add another European title to his ever growingly impressive racing resume.

Same applies to dominant Supersport force Maurizio Bottalico, who proved last weekend the cream of the 600 field.

Whilst 250 GP, Super Moto victories were taken in equally prodigious fashion by Guido Testoni and the only non Italian winner, Switzerland racer Philippe Bongard.
