David Datzer firmly stuck his presence today into the Dymokury Road Races, history books, by unofficially setting the first ever sub one minute lap.
During second Superbike qualifying, Datzer, a top ten finisher at this year’s FonaCAB & Nicholl Oils North West 200, lapped twice below 1 minute, with his best lap an incredible 59.799 seconds.
This achievement is all the more prodigious given that Datzer, hasn’t had any previous experience with M1000RR BMW tackle at Dymokury.
0.355 in arrears to the 2022 Macau GP runner-up, Superbike qualifying winner was official lap record holder Michal Prasek (1.00.134).
IRRC Supersport Championship leader Marek Cerveny, bagged Supersport, Super Twin qualifying victories.
Top pursuer to Cerveny in terms of the Supersport times sheet was Team Schleizer Dreieck’s Sebastian Frotscher.
Karel Brandtner, 42 plate carrier Tomas Toth closely followed Frotscher, with only 0.03 of a second separating the R6 Yamaha powered pair.
Super Twins wise, new wave Czech road racing force Petr Najman, Lukas Fikker proved the sternest opposition to the twice IRRC Supersport Champion.
Petr Kren got the better of Chris Meyer for 250 Open pole position whilst others scoring qualifying triumphs included:
Christopher Eder (125 Grand Prix), Karel Silpoch (Supersport 300), Petr Plichta (Supersport 400), James Walker (Classic 750) and fellow UK racer Richard Peers Jones (Classic 350).
