Irish road race Supersport, 125/Moto 3 Champion Michael Browne, is set to return to Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough for April’s Bob Smith Spring Cup.
Two years ago, BE/RK (Burrows Engineering/Richardson Kelly) Racing’s Browne made a striking debut at England’s only real road race.
Quickly getting to grips with the 2.43 miles long Scarborough circuit, he placed an excellent third in his Supersport heat.
The opening Supersport A race yielded a sixth place finish, on route setting a personal best lap time of 1 minute 49.739 seconds.
This made him at the time and still to this day, the fastest Oliver’s Mount newcomer of the 2020’s.
Likely to pilot YZF R6 Yamaha tackle in April, it wouldn’t at all surprise various roads insiders if the Cork ace contended for standout finishes.
Alongside Browne, others to already state their intention to sample this year’s Spring Cup include Scarborough regulars Stephen Degnan, Ian Stanford, Team ILR’s Joe Yeardsley, Neil Mason and prospective North West 200 debutant, Gorilla Racing’s Don Gilbert.
