Degnan Targeting Maiden 400cc Racing Quest At Spring Cup

Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough stalwart Stephen Degnan is aiming to take on a new challenge at the returning Spring Cup meeting in May, with the Darlington racer planning to race 400cc machinery for the first time.

Degnan who took 14th within the Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup of 2016, 400cc class opportunity has been made possible thanks to Nigel Race, who has supplied ‘Degsy’ with a NC30 VFR 400 Honda.

Speaking recently about his first 400cc racing venture, Darlington’s Degnan Candidly stated:

“I’ve ridden thousands throughout all my racing years and then got the 600 for extra track time. But now I’ve got a Honda NC 30 VFR 400 to ride at Scarborough.

Never ridden one in my life but if I can fit on it I will be racing one at the Spring Cup. I’m really looking forward to it as racing the 600 and aiming for the A finals all weekend is very stressful.

There’s no pressure on me racing the 400 so it’s just some extra track time and another class to race in. Having said that I’m hoping to get the hang of it and get some good results on it.”
