Cock O’The North: News From The Paddock

* Overall, there is 81 solo race entrants.

* Six nations in total are represented.

* Respective Solo, Sidecar racer representatives this weekend are Roddy Taylor and the Ramsdens Steve & Matty.

* Perennial Scarborough front runner Dave Bell, has announced that he won’t be participating this weekend, due to technical issues afflicting the Graham Turnbull Yamaha.

Speaking via Facebook, the Chester Le Street racer stated:

“Absolutely gutted to be saying this but we won’t be racing at Olivers Mount this weekend.

We’ve been on the back foot waiting for parts & Ali Al & Dave Jackson worked their arses off this week to have the bike ready but it was all in-vein as it blew the head gasket on the dyno this morning.

Hope Andy Hayes & his team, all the riders & marshals have a fantastic weekend & we’ll be back for the Barry Sheene trophy in 3 weeks.”

* Melton Mowbray’s Dan Ingham, confirmed today that he will be astride Russell Brook provided R6 Yamaha machinery, at the 100th Anniversary Manx Grand Prix.

* ‘Tommy Club’ member Ingham as at the Cock O’The North, is also confirmed to race in August, the Castings Technology RS660 Aprilia, which he took to second in the Super Twins race at Cookstown.

* Russell Racing and SMT Racing are located close to each other in the Oliver’s Mount paddock.

* Not far away from them is Robbie Silvester’s always hard-working VRS Racing team. Sole team racer across Saturday, Sunday is prospective Manx GP returnee Sam Johnson.

* Dean Harrison’s Boyce Precision Engineering/Russell Racing Yamaha, features a tribute to the much-missed William Dunlop.

* Those watching tomorrow at Mere Hairpin, will notice the Sorrymate banner. The Motorcycle Accident Solicitors are directly supporting this year, Oliver’s Mount Racing.

* Not much rain forecast for tomorrow but it could be a touch breezy!
