The second supersport race at this years cock of the north road races saw Dean Harrison make a great start on the Ian Bell motorcycles R6 Yamaha. Dean lead Jamie Hamilton and Ivan Lintin into Drury’s hairpin on lap 1, James Cowton was fourth whilst Dan Frear was in fifth place.
At the end of lap 1 Dean Harrison held a 1 second lead over Jamie Hamilton in second place who was holding off Ivan Lintin on the Taylor Lindsey racing ZX6 Kawasaki who held third position. James Cowton and Dan Frear where close together in fourth and fifth positions, James Coward rounded out the top six on the Barnes racing R6 Yamaha.
Lap 2 began with Dean Harrison showing superb form on the Ian Bell motorcycles R6 Yamaha, Jamie Hamilton and Ivan Lintin where only half a second apart as the battle for second place was in its ascendency. James Cowton was still in fourth place although Dan Frear on the NLC components R6 Yamaha was in determined mood in fifth place.
Dean Harrison opened up the lead at the front to over 3 seconds as lap 2 ended. Jamie Hamilton maintained second place in front of Ivan Lintin whilst James Cowton and Dan Frear where still close together in fourth and fifth. James Coward held sixth place at the end of lap 2 in front of David Hewson who held seventh place.
Lap 3 saw Dean Harrison’s lead out grow to over 4 seconds as Dean competing on the Ian Bell motorcycles R6 Yamaha pulled further away from Jamie Hamilton and Ivan Lintin who where battling it out for second place. James Cowton still held fourth place but Dan Frear was getting closer and closer still holding fifth position.
As lap 3 finished Dean Harrison lead by over 4 seconds from Jamie Hamilton in second place, Ivan Lintin was third, James Cowton fourth and Dan Frear was still in fifth place. James Coward continued to show good form on the Barnes racing R6 Yamaha and held onto sixth place.
Laps 4 and 5 saw positions out front remain largely the same although the race was on between Dan Frear and James Cowton for fourth place. Dean Harrison continued to lead out front and Dean’s lead was now over six seconds, Jamie Hamilton still occupied second place although the gap between him and Ivan Lintin remained at only half a second.
The sixth lap of the race saw Dan Frear move into fourth place, James Cowton now held fifth place but comfortably in front of sixth placed James Coward. Dean Harrison remained firmly in command at the front of the race, Jamie Hamilton remained in second place whilst Ivan Lintin continued to produce consistent lap times as he remained in third place.
Lap 7 began with positions out front staying the same but the gap between Jamie Hamilton and Ivan Lintin for second and third place was down to 0.4 of a second, Dan Frear still occupied fourth place in front of fifth placed James Cowton as the final lap of the race began.
Dean Harrison on lap 8 of the race did what he had done for the rest of the race which was to continue breaking away from second placed Jamie Hamilton. As Dean crossed the line at the end of lap 8 it brought another great victory for the naturally talented road racer on the Ian Bell motorcycles R6 Yamaha.
Jamie Hamilton finished in second place on the KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall supersport bike, Ivan Lintin produced a superb performance on the Taylor Lindsey racing ZX6 Kawasaki to finish in third place. Dan Frear, James Cowton, James Coward, David Hewson, Gary Graves, Scott Campbell and Daley Mathison rounded out the top 10 during a race which saw a fine performance from Dean Harrison on the Ian Bell motorcycles R6 Yamaha.
