Classic TT/Manx Grand Prix: Weather Wins The Race As Tuesday Practice Session Is Cancelled

It feels like repeating a broken record as once again I and my fellow reporters in 2019, have to report that inclement weather has yet again emerged victorious against event organisers and cancelled Tuesday evening’s Manx GP/Classic TT practice session.

Originally delayed for five minutes due to marshals been relocated around the Mountain Course, the delay to tonight’s competitive proceedings soon extended to 10 minutes, then 30 minutes as a significant bout of rain entered the horizon.

Soon the lengthy delay turned to practice cancellation, following an announcement from Clerk of The Course Gary Thompson, detailing that course conditions caused by the weather were not suitable for competitive action.

You could sense in Parc Ferme the frustration of various competitors, who are eager to gain much needed track time with race action under four days away.

Tomorrow evening’s Manx GP/Classic TT practice session weather permitting, begins at 6:20 PM, with roads around the fabled, mythical Mountain Course closing from 6:00 PM.
