Italy’s top International road racer Stefano Bonetti pushed through the pain barrier to secure victories at the latest CIVS (Campionato Italiano Velocita in Salita) hill climb round.
Going into competition around the Spoleto Forca Di Cerro course with a fractured hand injury, 2019 Senior Classic TT winner Bonetti illustrated again his tenacity, grit, determination.
Victorious in the opening 1000cc encounters, the Super Twins North West 200 winner also set the pace in the competitive Naked 650 class.
Overall quickest from Saturday, Sunday’s timed action was Supersport front runner Maurizio Bottalico, who set a new outright lap record of 1 minute 06.25 seconds.
Joining him in clinching race wins last weekend included Fabio Ricca (Quad Bikes), Stefano Nari (Superstock 600), Cristian Occese (250 Two Strokes), Manuel Dal Molin (125 Two Strokes) and Carmine Matarazzo (Supermoto).
Reminder the next European Hill Climb Championship round which is set to feature some of the aforementioned racers, takes place this weekend in Julbach, Austria.
