Carl Fenwick Racing 2014

Carl Fenwick Racing return to the grid for the 2014 season after taking a break for almost the entire 2013 race season.

Carl Fenwick (26) a self employed lorry mechanic did not let 2013 pass by sat with his feet up, the time away from the busy race schedule was well spent. He got married to Amy, moved to Epworth. He also spent time building up his business. The sidecar was also refreshed with new Yamaha engines, bodywork made to accommodate the change of engine and a new engine management system

Teaming up with accomplished passenger Phil Knapton a 32 year old tyre technician from Barlby. The pair are planning a full season of racing which will include.

The Auto Cycle Union / Formula sidecar racing associations British Formula two sidecar championship supported by Lockside Engineering, Castleford, and A.V Craine & Sons Limited, Isle of Man. A 12 Round Championship will be held over 6 meetings these being held on the 5th and 6th of April at Brands Hatch, 26th  April at Oulton Park, 4th and 5th of May at Cadwell Park, 26th and 27th of July at Donington, 16th and 17th August at Croft and the 4th and 5th of October at Cadwell Park.

The team are also planning to attend the meetings held by the Auto 66 club at the Oliver Mount circuit in Scarborough. The dates for these meetings are 13th March ian Watson National Spring Cup Road Races, 21st 22nd June Barry Sheene Road Race Festival and Rally, 19th 20th July CockO’ the North Continental Road Races, and on the 13th and 14th August The Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup

The highlight of the Season will be a return for both Carl and Phil to the work famous Isle of Man Tourist Trophy races held over a two week period on the Isle of Man between the 24th May and the 6th of June. A week of practice sessions followed by two three lap races around the famous mountain circuit. Both Carl and Phil are experience TT racers. Carls best was a 10th place finish with an average lap  speed of 107.8mph in 20011. Phil’s best was a 13th place at an average of 105mph. Both hope to make improvement on there previous best time this year.
