Michael Browne’s impressive early season form continued today at Bishopscourt, as the BE/RK Racing rider scooped the prestigious Enkalon Trophy prize.
Third quickest from this morning’s qualifying session, the afternoon’s re-started 1000cc encounter, which had a race distance of eight-laps, proved a battle royale with triple Irish Road Race Superbike Champion Derek Sheils and USBK (Ulster Superbike Championship) front-runner Jason Lynn.
Once the dust settled, just 0.682 would cover at the finish line, Browne, fellow BMW pilot Sheils and Lynn.
Sole Supersport race wise (IFS/Pirelli David Wood Trophy), Cork’s Browne had to settle for fourth behind JMcC Roofing Racing’s Adam McLean.
Super Twins victor Gary McCoy took fifth with former Duke Road Race Rankings Champion, Michael Sweeney wrapping up the 600cc top six finishers.
Waterford’s Brian McCormack making a return to the Ulster Superbike Championship scene, was also getting the miles in ahead of the North West 200, TT Races.
Bob Smith Spring Cup bound Michael Gahan, Graham McAleese, Keelim Ryan, Liam Chawke, Classic 250 winner x2 Philip Shaw, were amongst an additional selection of respected roads scene members circulating around Bishopscourt (national circuit configuration).
