Barry Sheene Classic – Reigning Senior TT Champ Harrison Grabs Bennetts Classic Superbike Pole Position

Reigning Senior TT Champion Dean Harrison capped his first day of competitive action, aboard the Greenall Racing ZXR 750 Kawasaki in top draw fashion by taking pole position for the Barry Sheene Classic Bennetts Classic Superbike races.

Harrison’s late burst of pace during qualifying, which yielded a lap time of 1 minute 55.481 seconds proved enough to overhaul long term pace setter Dave Bell (1.56.129), who once again showed a potent turn of pace on the Graham Turnbull Racing OWO1 Yamaha.

Third fastest, over 3.5 seconds behind Harrison, Bell was the ever cheerful Rhys Hardisty, piloting this weekend Suzuki machinery exotica in the form of the reputable RG500 mount.

Thundersport GB front runner John Dieterman in action aboard the Baxi Ducati took fourth on the timing screens whilst respective 5th, 6th, 7th quickest Superbike Classic competitors were ‘Tommy Club’ Manx GP member Dan Ingham (2.01.326), Andy Sailor (2.02.580) and Dave Hewson (2.02.786).
